I'm so sorry for forgetting the lil "flower of impermanence" piano part in the song.
There
Thousand of miles away from here
Can you see me?
Waving my hands every night when the night sky glimmers
Sending you words of love
From here
A fortnight amongst realm of the riches
I am still happy
Except when I listen to the flower of impermanence
On the airpot bench
When I buy a ticket to buy to heaven alone
All those bygone years
Love remains a strange thing
Love remains stronger than we are still together
We feel the hurt, everytime we dream of the lines in the song
Mummuring our wishes, whenever we are well-off
We will be together
Holding our hands, listening to the flower of impermanence
On the airport bench
"Two one way tickets to heaven"
If this song confuses you one way or another, think of it as a memoir from a deceased person to his living love. The first two paragraphs resembles a letter from the person to his partner. Ticket to heaven is basically an euphemism for the person's death.
The third paragraph is the lamentation and the catharsis where the narrators lets his feelings burst (the song narrator identified as a man, or anh). He pondered about the nature of many things, including love. Throughout these paragraphs, the flower of impermanence remains a symbol reminding us about the impermanent nature of life, much like the the skull in the Vanitas art movement. The flower of impermanence was inspired by Trịnh Công Sơn's famous "Flower of impermanence" song. Similar to Trịnh Công Sơn, Vũ Đinh Trọng Thắng's (Ngọt band's singer and songwriter) music also deals with songs that reaches the deep spiritual awakening of death in addition to their love songs, which amplifies the richness of their music. Trịnh Công Sơn also has another song called Cát Bụi, or Dust.
The last paragraph provides a resolution to the perplexing and heart-wrenching circumstances of the narrator. It signifies hope and something worth looking forward to, the moment they unify after the death of his lover. This shows how death is a natural part of life that deserves to be accepted and as a potent tool for reunion with people we love.
