have you ever wondered why you learn about units? like mm, cm, dm, m and so on in length? i never questioned, and that was a great mistake.
while I struggled with that thing from early primary to secondary school, especially when they evolved to get their beloved square and cube hats, I never knew why we learn such things. everyone was too busy passing classes to teach me why. maybe they don't even have the answers themselves.
today, I learned it now.
and it got me rather angry and disappointed.
we learn about units, so we can better control things.
but the most important unit of all that we fail to learn enough, is time.
you may know how to converse between second to minute, minute to hour, hour to day, day to week, week to year, but do you really know time?
the most useful unit in time, in my opinion, is day, followed by week.
there are seven days in a week.
christoph niemann has sunday sketches,
mark manson has mindfucked mondays.
i wonder which day of a week i'm gonna pick.
Day | Planet / Star / God / Goddess |
Monday | Moon |
Tuesday | Mars |
Wednesday | Mercury |
Thursday | Jupiter |
Friday | Venus |
Saturday | Saturn |
Sunday | Sun |
I think the greatest extravagence in life is having a day for you and your enquiries only. after researching, I decided to choose Sabbath, which starts at Friday's sundown and ends at Saturday's sundown.
truth is, you have time for everything.
if you don't make time for something, it's simply not your priorities and values.
and if something is supposed to be on your priority and value list and it's not there, it's because you don't spend enough time prioritizing things in life just yet.
