pha phin (vietnamese) refers to the phin filter that us Vietnamese use to make coffee. beside the coffee beans themselves, phin filter and the process as a whole also adds flavor that cultivate the signature taste of Vietnamese coffee. during the pha phin process, coffee is let to drip drop by drop into the cup placed below, which makes it rich and strong in flavor. hence, pha phin fits into this theme heavenly as it refers to the fine quality of anything well fermented with time.
in other words, it's a vietnamese version of the expression "to age like fine wine."
