eugene in...

taken inspiration from emily in paris, I decided to write a post about a set of places that I like to visit.

a long time ago, I'd loved to find "the best city" or "the best abc" that suits me. as I do it over a long period of time, I'd learnt lots about places around the world, its culture and cool stuff places have to offer, and really understand what culture means.

culture, however you define it, is basically a lifestyle. a general lifestyle of a location to be precise.

though I can't find the best place to be, I'd got it very well with places to live, to travel/ experience, to work, to love, et cetera, et cetera.

so voila, have fun browsing through my list.

eugene in paris

paris might sound damn cliche by the time you read this off my post, however, there's a reason why so many people love paris, since it's romantic and its music, as well as delicacies are quite amazing (not the people I suppose). we come to paris to daydream and to once again find our dreams - chasing after love and career

I swear the god I have to go to Paris for at least once in my twenties, I'll have time in the future long after that, but the experience, the truest, can only be found in my twenties

eugene in new york

new york is where authors, vloggers and many amazing people had come, or lived there in their lives. new yorkers hustle, they walk fast, do quick business, but its business is the thing that lures me and makes me fall in love with this place.

new york is home, or once home to casey neistat and haruki murakami, which are my favorite runners (shame on me I don't run that often ;v;)

eugene in chinatown

I love streets at night, they call that light pollution but I call that aesthetic stuff. and I swear the god you can't find anywhere better for banners, streets, or unrest cities other than asia cities. a thing is that I'd not decided on any cities yet, so I'll call it Chinatown in general. I'm happy to visit Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong or anywhere like that.

eugene in northern europe & canada

these countries are known for their high quality of life and generous social welfare, and also increasingly high taxes (except for Ireland)

northern europe and canada are cold but the people are very warm-hearted so I love those countries so much, they're also known for their epic sceneries, AURORAS omg and sustainable ways of life

of all northern europe countries, I love Sweden for its furniture design (IKEA bae) and amazing ways of life

eugene in jerusalem

a part of me is somewhat religious. however, jerusalem is somewhere I think I'd feel the spiritual me there. fyi, jerusalem is home to the Catholic Church, Islam and Jews.

I don't really have faith in any religion, I have faith in mental energy and how to use it for one's sake as well as others' (but horoscopes and tarot work for me)

because of that, at times, I wonder if it's okay to read the Holy Bible, Quran and Tanakh without any faith, or specifically as a heathen. I guess that's why I feel somewhat of guilt while reading sacred books of those religions.

however, as NasDaily had it, religions are like stars pointing towards a moon, and all help us mundane humans doing the right thing, avoiding doing the wrong thing, as well as choose kind above all.

eugene in delhi, tibet and japan

that was quite enough for western and middle east religions, here comes the eastern religions.

much as I have interests in researching about religions of the west and middle east, I have this strong connection with Tibetan and Zen Buddhism (no faith fyi)

eugene in vietnam

also known as little paris of the east, filled with pine forest and its cool atmosphere, beautiful landscape, is where I must visit one day, before leaving for america

I love hanoi through poems and stories about people here, as Thach Lam and Vu Bang long wrote. I also love the slow lifestyle, the weather that many Saigonese and Hanoian describe as "c0cksucker".

I mean imagine walking along the old town when the weather turns cold with your love hand in hand, how can you not fall in love with life, dear?

where I spent my childhood and where I'm currently living, but haven't got a chance to explore it thoroughly (or without my parents' keeping an eye on me). so bad I still not remember the roads or anything like that ;-; will miss saigon, and saigoneses I'd made friends with throughout the time, as most great people I had, been, and will meet, happen to be in this city

saigon is a city like no other, it's unique and exceptional. I will miss this city, one time soon.
